Design and construction of a box-shaped 3D-DNA origami.
A box-shaped 3D-DNA origami has been successfully constructed by selective closing of a preformed open motif, and identified by atomic force microscopy and dynamic light scattering analysis.
متن کاملCustom-shaped metal nanostructures based on DNA origami silhouettes.
The DNA origami technique provides an intriguing possibility to develop customized nanostructures for various bionanotechnological purposes. One target is to create tailored bottom-up-based plasmonic devices and metamaterials based on DNA metallization or controlled attachment of nanoparticles to the DNA designs. In this article, we demonstrate an alternative approach: DNA origami nanoshapes ca...
متن کاملEngineering a nanopore with co-chaperonin function
The emergence of an enzymatic function can reveal functional insights and allows the engineering of biological systems with enhanced properties. We engineered an alpha hemolysin nanopore to function as GroES, a protein that, in complex with GroEL, forms a two-stroke protein-folding nanomachine. The transmembrane co-chaperonin was prepared by recombination of GroES functional elements with the n...
متن کاملRapid communication Membrane transistor with giant lipid vesicle touching a silicon chip
Lipid bilayers on silicon may become the matrix of future bioelectronic devices if the junction is sufficiently insulating. We touched the open gate of a field-effect transistor with a preformed giant lipid vesicle and bound the membrane by means of polyelectrolyte interaction. The sheet resistance along the junction was 100 GΩ and the membrane resistance was above 100 GΩ at a contact area of 1...
متن کاملSlowing down and stretching DNA with an electrically tunable nanopore in a p-n semiconductor membrane.
We have studied single-stranded DNA translocation through a semiconductor membrane consisting of doped p and n layers of Si forming a p-n-junction. Using Brownian dynamics simulations of the biomolecule in the self-consistent membrane-electrolyte potential obtained from the Poisson-Nernst-Planck model, we show that while polymer length is extended more than when its motion is constricted only b...
